Cy taking it easy. Cy getting a hug from Julie and i'm in the kitchen cooking. I think I got rooked. Just before sunrise by the surf at Myrtle Beach. I think this is a test shot to see how the angle would look once the sun started to rise. Getting the jib positioned.

"A ninja, a jib and a sleepy girl pretending to be meditating" Celia catching the start of sun rise on the beach. This was such a tough gig. I had to sit and do nothing for the entire shoot while listening to the constant racket of soothing, comforting waves. Tough, tough shoot. The sky was a beautiful pink color and it was reflecting off the water beautifully. We are about ten minutes from our favorite shot.

One more of the many shots of me on the beach. Weazie liked the look so much she snapped a ton of pictures. I was trying to be a trooper but I was freezing from the constant breeze and my back was hurting from the super strait meditation posture. I know, it's very sad. We used the jib to try and simulate a big circular dolly. We forgot the extra extensions so the clips weren't exactly what we were hoping for. But over all we got what we needed. Ceelie working, Terresa watching and Cy playing with a sword.

Proof that I can get up early. The sun hasn't even come up yet! Handy ninja. Tightening the pan head. You guys keep working, i'll just make sure this blanket doesn't blow away. Ceelie finding a frame.

Working outside has some advantages. With no lights to worry about we were free to move the camera from location to location very quickly. It was really nice. Nature and mechanics. Ceelie cinematographying. Oooom....ooooohm.....ooooh my back hurts and i'm cold and I only got three hours sleep...oooohm

Yeah, uhm let me fix my hair before you attack me. Cy was nice enough to be our stunt ninja for the early morning shot. Directing from in front of the camera. Weazie and Ceelie already had it figured out though and send a swordsman to quiet me. Shiny happy blade. You can't buy light like this...at least not for what we paid for this particular shoot.

Chicks making movies. It kicks ass. Either "wait until I get up...i'm going to whack your pee pee with that sword"...or " I'm getting the hell out of here".. I forget. "Just put the sword down and take my hand sweetie. It's all going to be ok.." Yep i'm still freezing and I could use some breakfast and my butt hurts.....am I being whiny?

"Ill bring you a seashell" by Mrs. Louise Tremblay Another beach shot. "Uhm, we're trying to work sweetie" I think this is a great shot of Ceelie and Weazie.

When we did the really long shots Weazie would hold her arm up while the camera was rolling so that I would know to stay in position (you can see me through her arm). But people would walk by not realizing we were shooting and give me the strangest looks as I meditated on a mirror covered mat at the waters edge. It was great. As we shot the long shots some people would realize we were shooting and would wait for Weazy to lower her arm. It was very polite. Ceelie just realizing that this is not Weazies bathing suit bottom. Ceelie and Cy got up very early and worked hard, and we got some beautiful shots.

We seem to have a lot of shots of me and Weazel walking away talking at the end of a shot. That makes me happy. We matched a jib shot from "Lisa's" apartment that stopped on a red couch pillow with a faked move where Weazie drops the pillow from in front of the camera. It worked really well. I'm trying to figure out how to make the carpet take off. I'm sort of like that guy from "The greatest american hero" and I am having similar results. It still amazes and excites me that you can get so many people to get up at dawn to shoot movie scenes.

This was one of my favorite shoots. It was a totally beautiful location and everyone was in a good mood. The weather was perfect and the sounds on the beach were soothing. It was a great shoot. Post shoot where I introduced Weazie to our new friend "Hecate's head", a prop for the feature we are working on. I got it at Wings!! I love those crappy little stores. A doctored shot for wallpaper for someone, I forget now. I raised the contrast and the whites and mixed the color gammas to make the sand look solid. It's weird but fun.
